Company Description
-This is a new position that has been designed for the purpose of stakeholder engagement and minimizing risks to the business through day-to-day engagements and issues resolution. This position is critical to building stakeholder relations and in creating alignment with all internal stakeholders, especially Sishen mine contractors, service providers and suppliers. The incumbent will be trained on working with Passport 360 in order to assist with uploading community CVs and other details on the system.

Job Description
-As a Community Liaison Assistant , you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising Passport 360 training for contractors and other relevant partie
  • Conduct Stakeholder engagement on contractor procedures (contractor recruitment procedure etc.)
  • Uploading stakeholder CVs on Passport 360
  • Facilitating visibility of job adverts and explain details to applicants
  • Liaising with contractors to determine information to be shared with the stakeholders
  • Assisting with organising contractor workshops for on-boarding purposes
  • Collating stakeholder day-today issues for escalation with the Corporate Affairs and Contractor Management team
  • Providing continuous stakeholder feedback on day-to-day issues raised
  • In conjunction with Contractor Management team, organise contractor monthly meetings: agenda points (based on stakeholder issues) and feedback
  • Through engagements, monitor and identify risks, impacts and triggers that could lead to community protests
  • Identifying areas of engagement and stakeholder insights to provide insights on stakeholder issues
  • Submitting monthly reports as part of monitoring and evaluation
  • Facilitating the advertising of job adverts (using different platforms)
  • Providing support to internal teams on stakeholder engagement issues
  • Compiling feedback for stakeholder feedback and organise feedback sessions.

This role is in the Corporate Relations (COR) Department at a Band 4 reporting to the Community Liaison Officer.


  • Matric

Technical Knowledge:

  • Computer literacy
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Experience in dealing with stakeholders and being able to communicate in a language they understand
  • Experience in dealing with the community and community members and groups
  • Understanding of community vulnerabilities and stakeholder issues
  • 2 -5 years’ experience in the community liaison space
  • To be from the Gamagara Local Municipality/ JTG District Municipality
