Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Matric – Grade 12 and or Higher Certificates
  • Qualification in the following disciplines:
    • Retail Business Management
    • Sales/Marketing/ Entrepreneurship
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Office
  • Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19

Advantageous:

  • Experience in the retail industry

Job Specification:

  • Accurately verify, scan and capture physical goods receipts for the store in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures
  • Ensure the flow of stock receipts through receiving is maintained that deliveries arriving are receipted the same day and sent to the floor
  • Ensure delivered stock or stock pulled from the store room are stored and packed in the correct spaces
  • Assist with counting of stock files and general stock take
  • Exchange merchandise for customers and accept return goods by customers when authorized to do so compute total purchases and receive and process all payments
  • Process all loyalty cards including those of our accelerator partners
  • Ensure out of stock and general stock queries from customers are dealt with, followed up on and resolved
  • Assist with daily administration activities regarding customers, sales and staff matters
  • Prove friendly, helpful and courteous assistance and advice to all customers
  • Assist with the record keeping and updating of customer information and keep absolute confidentiality thereof

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Trainee Assistant Manager for their Southgate store in Johannesburg Region. You will assist the Store Manager with all operations of the store including managing staff and being responsible for store targets, maintaining inventory by checking the merchandise to determine inventory levels and preparing reports by collecting, analysing and summarising information.

Minimum Requirements:
Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Minimum of 5 years’ retail/FMCG experience in all retail departments: Receiving, Admin, Capturing, Till Operations, Cash Office, Sales Floor and Customer Service
  • Minimum of 3 year’s management/supervisory experience
  • Computer literate – MS Office and retail operating systems
  • Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Valid drivers license
  • Own reliable transport

Advantageous:

  • Relevant retail/FMCG qualification
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Basic knowledge and application of human resources and industrial relations

Job Description:

  • Manage day-to-day human resource administration including, but not limited to, leave, hours of work and scheduling.
  • Manage the performance management process and ensure that personal development plans are adhered to.
  • Manage and ensure all orders are done on a daily basis, no time, and maintain correct stock levels.
  • Manage stock-flow to the floor.
  • Prepare, coordinate and manage stock takes on a biannual basis, in conjunction with the Store Admin Manager and Store Manager.
  • Manage shrinkage.
  • Regulate customer compliments and complaints.
  • Ensure customer requests and complaints are addressed timeously.
  • Ensure all merchandisers adhere to Dis-Chem merchandising standards.
  • Ensure promotional stock and displays are planned, implemented and maintained.
  • Adhere to all labelling, pricing and layout standards, and ensure that merchandisers adhere to these standards.
  • Ensure all store objectives are achieved.


Competencies

Essential:

  • Store retail admin and management experience, relating to receiving, admin, capturing, till operations, cash office, stock control, sales floor and customer service
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Basic financial skills – GP, mark-up, VAT, etc.
  • Effective interaction with suppliers, management, reps and staff
  • Strong analytical skills and time management
  • Manage, develop and motivate subordinates
