SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The incumbent will take full HR generalist responsibility for the development, implementation and
management of all facets of the HR functions in line with the strategic guidance provided by the Senior
Director, Global Human Resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Management

  • Manage the overall sourcing of talent, from sourcing to onboarding, in line with business requirements and processes.
  • Manage the talent management process in line with business requirements and processes.
  • Management of the recruitment process for South Africa, Ghana and UAE and co-ordination of all recruitment throughout the region.
  • Utilizing outside resources in order to monitor issues and concerns in employment law, communicating potential changes to senior management.

Compensation & Benefits Management

  • Negotiate, prepare and offer salaries packages to internal hires as well as potential new employees in conjunction with HR Director.
  • Support the benefits management processes, inclusive of disability, death, provident fund and medical aid, amongst others.
  • Facilitates all employee changes on the payroll and HR systems.
  • Ensures governance is followed on all compensation changes.

Employment Relationships

  • Providing pragmatic and consistent guidance and advice to managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary, and performance issues
  • Support managers in all disciplinary and grievance cases and ensure procedural and substantive compliance in line with the company disciplinary code and procedure.
  • Support managers in all terminations for operational reasons in line with local labor legislation and company policies.
  • Support managers in all incapacity cases.
  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are rolled – out and complied with.
  • Represent the company at externally referred cases, i.e., conciliation and arbitration.
  • Liaise with legal counsel where necessary on all Labor Court matters.
  • Together with line managers and employees, foster a healthy ER environment.

Training and Development

  • Setting up a robust Training and development strategy with the line managers
  • Conducting new employee orientation program and other educational and training programs on changes in benefits, diversity, etc.
  • Setting up and coordinating internal training including Induction, and other interventions in conjunction with the HR Director, in compliance of BBBEE and other legislation.
  • Ensuring that all Training is captured monthly, and that processes and policies for internal and external training, are followed.
  • Bursary administration as is required.

Administration

  • Ensure all data quality is 100% accurate.
  • Ensure all HR people management processes are in place and complied with.
  • Ensure all employee lifecycle administration processes, e.g., new hires, terminations, etc. are complied with.

Policies and Procedures

  • Briefing new managers and staff on the policies and procedures of an organization in conjunction with development and learning team, providing coaching to managers on difficult and complex issues.
  • Keeping managers informing on antidiscrimination regulations.

EDUCATION BACKGROUND

  • A 3-year degree or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or Arts or Social Sciences with HR as a major focus.
  • A diploma in Employment Relations Management or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
  • 5-7 years working experience as HR Generalist.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in IR and CCMA experience is essential.
  • Have thorough working knowledge of HR administration, recruitment and labor relations.
  • Computer literate – MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent understanding of relevant Labor legislation i.e., LRA, BCEA, EE, Skills Development Act, Occupational Health and Safety and BBBEE Act.
  • HRIS experience is advantageous

IT Field Technician
Our client in Westville has a vacancy for an IT Field Technician with A+/N+ qualification and a drivers licence.
Duties:
    • Primarily technical support to municipal and small private vendors using hand-held / mini PC/ cashpoint terminals
    • Must have experience in customer care and online support
    • Configuring equipment, testing faulty equipment, assisting with training and online support
    • Conduct site visits to roll out and train customers and do on-site support/ equipment swop outs
    • New site activations to assist with signing up new vendors, training and rolling-out vendors and municipal sites (this may involve overnight stays and / or travel to other locations)
    • You will have use of the company vehicle with fuel provided
    • Overnight travel will be arranged at head office
    • On-Site allowances, laptop, cell phone will be provided to allow for afterhours support (on a roster system)
    • May be required to assist with internal IT requirements – setting up new equipment for staff, assisting with IT issues, configuring printers etc
Requirements:
    • Matric + IT Diploma or equivalent
    • 2 years’ experience in a similar field-based role
    • CompTIA A+ / N+ Certified
    • Must be fluent in English, isiZulu
    • Must have valid clean drivers’ licence and be willing to travel/ stay overnight when needed
