The successful incumbent will support Global Clinical Trial Operations (GCTO) department in South Africa including the following responsibilities

Provide administrative support for the Clinical Research Director and clinical trial department in travel arrangements, logistics, expenses and diary management

Provide support for Leadership Team presentations

Manage Skills development collation

Onboarding and Offboarding of all personnel in department

Support and organize department meetings

Collaborate with local AAs for our Company’s South Africa requirements.

Collaborate with Global Clinical Trial Organization’s AAs when required

Complete Headcount Forms for all new starters and leavers

Complete monthly org charts and Headcount tracker for region

Manage local processes and systems as needed

Manage the building facility needs

Ordering and control of general stationery

Ordering and control of all IT hardware, distribution lists and dept. electronic folders.

Support regional processes and special projects as needed.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required – .

Education Minimum Requirement: Matric

Required Experience – Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as Administrative Assistant or related functions.

IT skills- must be able to use Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Onenote, email etc.

The Policy, Communications and Public Health (PCPH) team is responsible for driving our company’s environment shaping efforts to promote health systems strengthening and improved patient access to innovative medicines and vaccines across sub-Saharan Africa. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing external communications strategies to support environment shaping priorities at the organisation-wide and brand level in support of commercial objectives.
  • Ensuring executive readiness for internal and external engagements, including relevant public, industry and media events
  • Drive our company’s Corporate Responsibility and Patient Support Initiatives across SSA.
  • Incidents and Issues Management to protect our company’s reputation.
  • Create opportunities and drive positive media coverage of our company, its priority disease areas and key brands by developing and implementing an effective media relations strategy.
  • Proactively monitor external environment for information that may be commercially or business relevant, that may materially impact the markets in which our company operates in SSA and / or which may present risks to current or planned commercial strategies and co-ordinate responses thereto.
  • Developing and implementing internal communications strategy to help drive employee engagement.
  • Manage vendors and other strategic partners in South Africa and SSA as required.
  • Leading our company’s participation in identified working groups within relevant industry associations (e.g. IPASA).
  • Manage our company’s social media channels and leverage platforms to raise awareness and understanding of the value, impact and promise of our medicines, vaccines, discovery science and pipeline in line with the business objectives and product priorities

  • Be proficient at identifying and responding to reputation and brand opportunities in both the traditional media and social media spaces.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with advanced business presentation skills.
  • Strong networking skills including strong relationships with the media and other key stakeholders.
  • Design and deliver media events in support of commercial and organizational objectives.
  • The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and managing the development and production of communications materials for all brand, company reputation and corporate social responsibility initiatives both in South Africa and in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Excellent speaking skills and a strong ability to write, edit and do research to develop media releases and business presentation. Ideal candidate must be a hands-on people’s person who is strong at negotiation, well presented, with excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills and sound judgement
  • Proficient in the development and execution of digital and social media strategies

  • Excellent communication skills and must be fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in scientific communications would be advantageous
  • Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical information.
  • Strong organising and prioritising skills are critical.
  • Advanced Computer literacy in Word, PowerPoint and relevant design software.

Education

  • Educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism or communications. A bachelor’s degree in business or marketing will also be considered.
